Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program – HEOP

Welcome to the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program – (HEOP) at Syracuse University.

HEOP at Syracuse University is marking 50 years of success and contributions to this community! We welcome you to our family! Our mission is to provide you with tailored personal and academic support that will help you build lifelong habits and skills that will always be a positive resource for you.

As you prepare to come to Syracuse University, think of your possibilities and the opportunities that you can create. Your personal ownership of this opportunity, as well as the support of dedicated and resourceful staff, will pave the way to your success. There will be challenges, but with the proper preparation they will be surmountable.

Our staff consists of the Director, Craig Tucker, and Associate Director, Marieke Davis, along with four Academic Counselors: David Peterson, Alexis Jerauld, Amy Friers and Christopher Davis. We support our HEOP students academically, and in any and every hardship that you might face at a large university. We offer comprehensive services to address your academic, social and personal needs. We work diligently with all departments of the University to ensure that you have access to any type of support you may need.

We are excited about the opportunity to work with you through the next four years as you strive for excellence.

Our doors are always open. We extend to you our friendship, a shoulder to lean on, a hand to hold, a hug, a cheering section and a personal fan club. Most importantly, we offer our expertise and experience without reservation or judgment.  Our goal is to help you do more than get through Syracuse University; our goal is to help you be excellent!!!!
